A good shoot day is mostly decided before it starts. Here is what we settle with every client first, so the time in the studio goes into the pictures rather than the questions.
Before the shoot
One: where the images will be used, because a website hero, a marketplace listing and an Instagram tile all want different crops. Two: a mood board of three to five references, so "clean" and "premium" mean the same thing to everyone. Three: the full list of products, with the hero items marked. Four: which angles each product needs. Five: props and surfaces, agreed and on hand. Six: the brand colours and any packaging that must appear.
On the day
Seven: products arrive clean and, where it matters, in duplicate. Eight: someone who can make decisions is reachable. Nine: a tethered preview so choices happen live, not a week later.
After
Ten: a selection round with a fixed number of picks. Eleven: retouching that is agreed in scope before it starts. Twelve: delivery in the sizes each channel needs, named so the team can find them. Simple, and it removes almost every reason a shoot goes over.
